Meghan Murray is an Irish R&B Pop singer-songwriter. Born in Belgium to a South African mother and Irish father, she moved to Cork in 2014 to start her undergraduate degree in music at UCC with a focus on vocals and piano. In the summer of 2017, Meghan started writing her own music which led to recording her debut EP "Out of Mind" in Monique Studios the following year.
Her debut singles ‘Space’, ‘Broken Ladders’ and ‘Feeling Blue’ have garnered high praise from the likes of Niall Byrne of the Irish Times, calling her music “sophisticated R&B pop”. Meghan has gotten radio play on RTÉ 2FM, RTÉ Radio 1, Cork’s RedFM, 98FM and Craic Radio Philadelphia as well as being featured on Nialler9’s Best New Irish Music playlist on Spotify. In March and April of this year, Meghan went on a co-headlining tour with fellow Cork based singer-songwriter Laura Duff, playing gigs in Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Clare.
Hailed as “an artist with a highly stylised sound with a voice to carry it” (Stephen White, The Last Mixed Tape), Meghan’s candid reflections on relationships are delivered in a fresh and unique style combining elements of R&B and Pop. Meghan is also included in Niall Byrne's Irish Times article "New artists of the week: Great Irish acts to love in 2019" as one of 36 Irish artists to watch for in 2019 and in an exclusive Nialler9 premiere of her third single ‘Feeling Blue’, Luke Sharkey describes her music as “compelling, sincere R&B/Soul from an Irish artist constantly growing in quality and character.”.
Meghan looks forward to releasing more tracks from her upcoming EP ‘Out of Mind’ later in the year as well as showcasing at Ireland Music Week 2019 in October.
